as a child, i always loved small things. i imagined whole other worlds in a bed of moss, or giant rivers that were really only trickles of water running off after a rain.
i don't really remember when i first was drawn to photography, but i do remember my father buying a canon ae-1 when i was in junior high. we took a class together to learn how to use it. this was where i learned the basics and it's also my first remembered exposure to macro photography, because the instructor specialized in insects and flowers. i'd always loved bugs and i thought it was incredibly cool that you could get an even better look at them using this method.
i might not remember what came before this point, but i know this was the turning point, what started me along the road that's led to where i am today.
